The catch is that you will need to prove that you are pay TV subscriber to access the live streams. Without authentication, you will be able to stream 30 minutes of coverage on your first visit and five minutes each day after that. Authentication is a drag, but then again, NBC did shell out $4.38 billion for the rights to broadcast the four Olympic Games from 2014 to 2020.

PyeongChang is 14 hours ahead of New York and 17 hours ahead of Los Angeles.

Mikaela Shiffrin won gold at the 2014 Games in Sochi in slalom ski racing as an 18-year-old, becoming the youngest slalom champion in Olympic history. She's the heavy favorite to repeat in the slalom in PyeongChang and is among the favorites in giant slalom and combined (a mix of downhill and slalom). She may even race in the speed events, downhill and Super G.

After missing the 2014 Games in Sochi because of a knee injury, ski racer Lindsey Vonn is set to race in downhill and Super G. She won gold in the downhill and bronze in Super G in the 2010 Games in Vancouver.

Snowboarding legend Shaun White won gold in the halfpipe in 2008 and 2012, but finished fourth in 2014. He will be looking to add a third gold medal to his collection in the halfpipe in PyeongChang.

Only 17 years old, snowboarding phenom Chloe Kim is favored to win gold in the halfpipe. She qualified for the last Winter Games just to prove she could; at 13 years old she was too young to compete.

Two-time US champion Nathan Chen is among the gold-medal favorites in figure skating. He is the first figure skater to land five quadruple jumps during a performance. (That is roughly five more than I can do.)

Short-track speedskater Maame Biney was born in Ghana and moved to the US when she was five. She'll be racing in her first Olympics as a 17-year-old and is the first African-American woman to make the US Olympic speedskating team.

Yes, these Olympic Games will introduce four new events. In addition to the aforementioned mixed-doubles curling (one male, one female and six stones per team), you can check out big air snowboarding (huge jumps and lots of flips and twists and other tricks), mass start speed skating (the madness of short-track speedskating on the long track) and team skiing (the mixed doubles of alpine skiing).

You can use one of the Red Suede Versilia 100 sandals Gianvito Rossi Footlocker Pictures Cheap Price Sale Genuine gh1EN5qoDU
to watch the Winter Olympics. All five offer NBC, but you'll need to make sure that the service offers a live feed of NBC and not just on-demand content in your area. And you'll need to check if NBC's cable channels are included if you want to be able to engage in Olympic channel surfing.

In many markets, you can watch on-demand but not live content from the local networks. Each of the streaming services offers a free, seven-day trial so you could sign up and watch a portion of the Olympics free of charge.

NASA’s SpaceApps Challenge 2016 (Best Use of Hardware) has been won by a University of Surrey undergraduate student, James Lynn.

He was part of a team which created a 3-D printed “ergonomic earpiece” – dubbed ‘Canaria’ – for simultaneously monitoring heart rate, blood oxygen and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.

As you can guess, the project was named after the canaries used by 19th century miners as a warning system for toxic levels of dangerous gases in the mines. His own system has an audible danger threshold alarm for the wearer.

Canaria was developed by an artist and two electronic engineers over one weekend at Inmarsat recently in London for NASA’s challenge. You can see their currentprogress at FOOTWEAR Sandals Stefano Mortari Outlet Best 4Eo5BIRt7l

Engineers Feel The Difference

Canaria’ concept design incorporates a health aspect (biometrics, physical and emotional health, and/or environmental alerts), interconnectivity options (for staying more connected to a team, community, or even tools) and an entertainment option (sounds or music).

NASA says the design could be the future of wearable tech for vital signs monitoring. It’s meant to be unobtrusive and non-invasive, for example, allowing the wearer to change clothes and put headphones over it without the worry of it catching onto surrounding items.

It could also help analyse data sets, perhaps detecting problems in ventilation systems or supplying feedback about problem areas.

It would have the ability to gain continuous blood oxygen and heart rate data from individuals in space provides other research benefits. This would allow changes to human physiology in space to be better monitored and planning for long duration space flight to be improved, says NASA.

Finally, It comes in a hard 3D printable case to protect the delicate microchips within from solar radiation. You can read more information about Canaria on the NASA website .

For example, the space agency writes:

The Canaria system of CO2 monitor patch and earpiece acts as a lifeline to the wearer, simultaneously monitoring their heart rate, blood oxygen, and atmospheric CO2 levels. Named after the canaries used by Victorian miners as a warning system in areas of dangerous gas pockets, the Canaria has an audible danger threshold alarm to alert the wearer when they need to head back to safety. Data is automatically transferred by Bluetooth Low Energy to iOS and Android apps or even hospital eHealth wardware using the industry-standard Bluetooth Pulse Oximetry Profile. The patch contains the CO2 monitor and batteries that provide wireless charging power to the earpiece as well as sending data of CO2 levels to the monitor hardware. The earpiece contains the blood oxygenation and heart rate monitor and transmits those body vital signs to the monitor hardware. The earpiece has battery capacity to run for over an hour away from the CO2 monitor patch that charges it.

[ EDITOR’S NOTE : The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader. It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The B-Town Blog nor its staff: ]

EDITOR’S NOTE

Dear Editor:

The letter from Barbara Dobkin and Liz Giba requires a response, since they mentioned with word “deceit” regarding my recent letter to the editor on this important Burien B-Town Blog community site. As background, I submitted a freedom of information request to the King County Executive’s office asking for all King County executive staff meetings and communication in 2013 related to White Center annexation, who attended, and when meetings were held. I received three pages of outlines of meetings as a start. At that time, I was called and the King County executive staff requested a meeting to discuss annexation. We met at the 3.14 Bakery in White Center, where, after the meeting was over, I had a wonderful slice of Rhubarb pie. We talked for over an hour and a half about the information, the personalities and what the future lies related to the annexation issue. Based on that meeting, I withdrew my continued information request, as my conversation with staff, and the documents already provided, clearly showed that Burien was still attending annexation meetings with King County.

At the good pie meeting, I was told that the only voices that have been heard from White Center on annexation since the dramatic rejection of Burien last November were Liz Giba and Barbara Dobkin, who had met with annexation staff, called annexation staff multiple times, always with the emphasis on getting Burien back in the annexation game. Interesting that Giba and Dobkin did not provide this information in their letter of complaint. Also, at the good pie meeting, it was strongly implied that they both had met with Dow himself (or at least talked with him). Regardless, they were continuing to put pressure on the executive office to keep Burien annexation of White Center alive. To leave out these details in their letter of complaint would have clouded their claim of deceit, so they didn’t mention these truths.

They also claimed in their letter that they hardly “cross paths” with pro-annexation Burien City Council members Rose Clark and Joan McGilton. Both Giba and Dobkin are leaders in the pro Burien annexation group North Highline UAC. Guess who attended the twice monthly UAC meetings for over a year prior to the annexation vote? You guessed it; Rose Clark, Mike Martin and sometimes Joan McGilton. And guess who attended the recent King County Library System board meetings to lobby to push the new White Center library out of White Center and into Burien? You guessed it again. Dobkin, Giba, and Burien city council members Rose Clark, Joan McGilton and Gerry Robison. When they lost the Library board vote, due to the overwhelmingly strong testimony of 14 White Center residents, and dozens and dozens of letters and emails asking that the new White Center library stay in White Center, Giba, Dobkin, and Clark huddled in the corner, staring at our large group as we left the meeting to celebrate the smart decision that the KCLS had just made for the people of White Center. Regardless of what they want readers to believe, they are all very close associates. I am not making this stuff up folks.
